Exhibit of large-scale sculpture focusing on the force of water

"Water Content," an installation by Rochester sculptor Chris Dobbs, will open at the University of Rochester Hartnett Gallery Tuesday, Feb. 6.

Dobbs' work focuses on the use and abuse of water as a living resource. Through water-filled sculptural forms, Dobbs seeks to portray the force of water in the environment and to explore questions of ecological compromise.

"I'm interested in reminding viewers of water's power to humble people through its size and strength," Dobbs said.

An opening reception will be held Tuesday, Feb. 6 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the gallery, which is located in Wilson Commons on the River Campus. A gallery talk with the artist will be held Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 1 p.m.

Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, and noon to 6 p.m. on weekends. Admission is free and open to the public.
