The University of Rochester chapter of Delta Gamma sorority will hold Anchor Splash, its annual philanthropy event, at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, in the Speegle-Wilbraham Aquatic Complex of the Robert B. Goergen Athletic Center on the University's River Campus. Anchor Splash is the culmination of a week of national fund-raising projects aimed at helping the visually impaired. The event highlights synchronized swimming and a series of competitive relay races.
Admission is $2 or a pair of donated prescription eyeglasses. This year, half of all proceeds go to Delta Gamma Foundation's philanthropic project, Aid to the Blind and Sight Conservation, which provides Braille books, computers, and scholarships for children and adults. Much of the remaining money will be donated to the Upstate Guide Dog Association or another local charity.
Teams of eight to 10 people can sign up for the event through Friday, Nov. 12, between the hours of 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. in Wilson Commons. The team registration fee is $30.
