Grant Holcomb, director of the Memorial Art Gallery, will talk about Rochester's connection to the main character in a famous Kurt Vonnegut novel at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, in the Welles-Brown Room of Rush Rhees Library on the University of Rochester's River Campus.
Holcomb's lecture titled "From Rochester to the Rhine: The Journey of Billy Pilgrim" is another in the continuing series of Tea Talks, which are sponsored by River Campus Libraries and are free to the public. In his presentation, Holcomb will examine the life of Brighton native Edward J. Crone, Jr., who died in a German prison camp in 1945. Crone was a friend of Vonnegut and was the inspiration for the character of Billy Pilgrim in Vonnegut's novel Slaughterhouse-Five.
