The University of Rochester Ballet Performance Group will present its annual spring show, "Encore," at 8 p.m. Friday, April 22, in Strong Auditorium on the University of Rochester's River Campus. Tickets are available at the Common Market in Wilson Commons on the River Campus and at the door; admission is $3 for students and $5 for the general public.
The show will feature a wide variety of dance styles including tap, classical ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and lyrical. Music selections will include Mariah Carey's "Always Be My Baby," Frou-frou's "Let Go" from the Garden State soundtrack, and "Cell Block Tango" from Chicago, among many others.
The Ballet Performance Group is a student organization that works to keep ballet an integral part of student activities on campus and to provide students with an opportunity to perform. The group holds two performances each year and encourages members to take off-campus dance lessons and perform outside the group as much as possible.
