An exhibition of color and black-and-white photographs by Robert W. Doty that capture his travels from World War II and celebrate his 58-year marriage to Elizabeth N. Doty are on display in the Gallery at the Art & Music Library on the University of Rochester's River Campus. The exhibit continues through Friday, June 17, and is free and open to the public.

The photographs by Robert Doty, who is professor in the Department of Neurobiology and Anatomy at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, are tied to his 2004 book of letters and remembrances about himself and his lifelong partner, Elizabeth N. Doty, who died in 1999. In Man and Woman, War and Peace 1941-1951: A Dual Autobiography (Vantage Press, 693 pages), he shares their correspondence and photographs.

His exhibit of selected photographs continues the couple's love story as they traveled around the world and also enjoyed the country setting at their home in Rush, N.Y. Close-ups from his wife's well-tended garden with iris and amaryllis, among other floral and animal subjects, are included in the show.

The Gallery at the Art & Music Library is located on the ground floor of Rush Rhees Library on the River Campus. The hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Thursday, and Friday; and 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. For more information, contact (585) 275-4476.
