Four prominent business, financial services, and health care leaders have been elected to the Board of Trustees of the University of Rochester.

They are Richard Handler, chairman and CEO of Jefferies & Co.; Nathan Frederick Moser, CEO and president of National Envelope Corporation; Dr. William Peck, director of the Center for Health Policy at Washington University in St. Louis; and Michael Rosen, CEO of Context Capital Management, an investment company he founded in 2001. All are graduates of the University of Rochester.

Handler joined Jefferies in 1990 as an executive vice president and became CEO of the investment bank and securities firm of Jefferies Group and of its principal operating subsidiary Jefferies & Co. in 2001. A year later, he was appointed chairman. An economics major at Rochester, Handler earned an M.B.A. from Stanford University.

Moser, a political science major as an undergraduate, holds a law degree from Syracuse University. He was named executive vice president and CFO in 1996 of National Envelope Corporation, one of the largest companies of its kind. Moser has been chairman and CEO since 2001.

Peck, a former professor of medicine and biochemistry at Rochester, graduated from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry with a medical degree, and in 2000 was awarded an honorary doctor of science degree. As director of the Center for Health Policy, he oversees investigations into social disparities in health care access and the impact of health care costs on businesses. His academic activities have included research into bone and mineral metabolism and investigations into the causes of osteoporosis and other disorders. He is former executive vice chancellor for medical affairs at Washington University, and is the director of Midwest Healthcare Equities.

An economics major, Rosen was a partner in Fielding Management Co. before launching his own company. He earned an M.B.A. from the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration at Rochester. Named the best bond fund manager by Business Week in 1992, Rosen also serves as a director on the board of Entravision Communications Corp.
