The rock/punk band Dashboard Confessional will bring their emotion-packed tunes to the University of Rochester at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, in the Alexander Palestra of the Robert B. Goergen Athletic Center on the River Campus.

The group features singer/songwriter/guitarist Chris Carrabba, bassist Scott Schoenbeck, guitarist and pianist Johnny Lefler, and drummer Mike Marsh. Dashboard began with Carrabba recorded Drowning as a side project while he was with his former band. Between Drowning and their first official album Swiss Army Romance in 2002, Dashboard developed a faithful following among fans of rock and punk.

Dashboard Confessional has three other albums, including So Impossible, The Places You've Come To Fear The Most, and A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar. The song "Screaming Infidelities" won an award at the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards. The band was also featured on MTV Unplugged.

While Dashboard tends to headline smaller shows, they have also played with U2, Keane, and Weezer.

Tickets for University of Rochester undergraduates are $15 bleachers, $17 floor; and for the general public, $25 bleachers, $27 floor. Tickets go on sale Sept. 10 at the Common Market in Wilson Commons on the River Campus as well as at Record Archive, 1394 Mt. Hope Ave.
