In order to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, the students of the University of Rochester will sponsor "JAM-balaya," a dinner and performance show, starting at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, on the River Campus. Tickets will be $12 for dinner with admission to the show, or $5 for the show only, and are available from the Common Market in Wilson Commons.

The dinner, which will take place in Douglass Dining Hall, will feature New Orleans-style food, including jambalaya, tofu, collard greens, and desserts.

The show will feature University of Rochester student groups, including the Indian Dance Team performing "Bhangra," the Sihir Bellydance Ensemble, Radiance Dance Theater, Korean American Student Association, Ballet Performance Group, and performance of "Yosakoi," a contemporary version of a ceremonial dance ritual.

All proceeds from "JAM-balaya" will go to the American Red Cross for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
