"Paintings, Texts & Constructions," an exhibit by Nancy Fried Foster.

TIME, DATE, AND PLACE: Now through Saturday, Dec. 10, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday; noon to 5 p.m. Saturday; and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday in the Gallery at the Art & Music Library, located on the ground floor of Rush Rhees Library on the University of Rochester's River Campus.

ADMISSION: Free and open to the public.

The artist, who is lead anthropologist at Rush Rhees Library, says of the show: "Life is terrible and wonderful. This is what my paintings are about, and about improving what is terrible, and about loving what is wonderful, especially in everyday life." Her exhibit includes reverse paintings on glass with gold leaf, themes tied to collections of everyday objects, and acrylic paintings.
