Kirby Randolph, assistant professor of history and philosophy of medicine and director of cultural enhancement and diversity at the University of Kansas Medical Center, will speak on "Disparities and the Dream of Equality." Her research focuses on the historical treatment of African Americans with mental illness. Randolph has a doctorate in the history of medicine from the University of Pennsylvania.

Randolph's talk is presented as part of the commemoration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day at the University of Rochester's School of Medicine and Dentistry and is sponsored by the Department of Community and Preventive Medicine, the School of Medicine and Dentistry Medical Education Office, and the Department of History.
