The Margaret Warner Graduate School of Education and Human Development at the University of Rochester will present the final Urban and Teaching Leadership Forum for the semester. The panel will focus on professional development of urban teachers and administrators.
Panelists will include Rebecca Boyle, director of professional development; Maria Cianca, chief of school development and academics; Marie Costanza, coordinator of mentor-intern programs; and Susan Goodwin, director of the Rochester Teacher Center, all of the Rochester City School District (RCSD). Each panelist will address questions related to the challenges of maintaining a high-quality teaching force, including induction, retention, standards for teachers and administrators, the effect of standardized testing on teachers' work, certification tests, and increasing the cultural diversity of school personnel.
The forums are designed to provide a space where university, school, and community stakeholders can learn more about urban education and the work and initiatives of the RCSD.
