A leading urban planner, architect, and economic advisor to the Russian government, Maslennikov will discuss Russia's economic growth and the impact on the country's rich cultural heritage. Maslennikov also has served as head of the Department of Investment Projects for the City Administration of St. Petersburg and has worked on urban planning and investment planning for international firms. He is a professor at the Higher School of Economics in St. Petersburg, which was established in 1992 to assist economic reforms in Russia by educating professionals in modern economics and other social sciences.

Maslennikov's talk is presented by the Russian Studies Program and the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures and will be followed by a reception.
