The annual Susan B. Anthony Legacy Dinner at the University of Rochester pays tribute to the suffragist's campaign to win women admission to the University and honors the achievements of student leaders, faculty, staff, and alumni. This year's event, co-sponsored by the Susan B. Anthony Center for Women's Leadership and the University of Rochester Women's Club, will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, in the May Room of Wilson Commons on the River Campus.

The dinner is open to the public. The program includes the presentation of the Center's Lifetime Achievement Award and scholarships from the Women's Club.

Suzanne Jagel O'Brien, associate dean of undergraduate studies and director of the College Center for Academic Support, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Rochester, O'Brien has worked with students throughout her 45 years of service at the University. She has held various posts in academic counseling and in career services and has served as Dean for Sophomores. Widely respected and praised for her mentoring and advocacy for professional and leadership development among women, O'Brien received the Goergen Award for Distinguished Contributions to Undergraduate Learning in the College in 2003.

Several women students will also be honored for their accomplishments and contributions to University life. Three students will receive awards sponsored by the University of Rochester Women's Club. Juniors Colette Carmouche and Kellie Hasselwander are the recipients of the Susan B. Anthony Scholarship, and senior Mariana Bojaca will be honored with the 60th annual Fannie Bigelow Prize.

Also, Take Five Scholar Alison Delpercio will receive the Susan B. Anthony Prize. Sophomore Julianne Nigro will be presented with the Jane Plitt Award. In addition, the Simon Association of Women MBAs of the University's Simon Graduate School of Business will award the Leadership Scholarship.

Cost for the dinner is $30 per person and $220 for a table of eight. Cost for University of Rochester students is $20 per person or $140 for a table of eight.
