Distinguished artist Carrie Mae Weems is famous for addressing African-American issues in society. Using a variety of media, she deals with the political and social realities of African-Americans, including issues such as family relationships, gender roles, racism, and sexism.

Weems and writer/critic Cheryl Kaplan will host an artist's talk on Weems's "All about Eve" exhibit, which will be on display in the Hartnett Gallery of Wilson Commons from Thursday, Feb. 8, through Friday, March 9. The exhibit, which features both Weems's older and more recent works, focuses on women's issues and relationships and includes her most recent video project, titled "Italian Dreams."

The talk will be followed by a reception from 5:30 until 7 p.m. in the Hartnett Gallery.
