French carillonneur Charles Dairay began studying music at age 6 and playing the carillon at 10. In 1996, he received a degree in carillon from the National Conservatory of Douai, and later graduated from the Jef Denyn Royal Carillon School in Belgium.

Dairay is carillonneur at Orchies, Le Quesnoy and Saint-Armand Les Eaux, France, and has regularly performed in Russia, Spain, Germany, France and the United States.

In addition to an original composition, his program will include several familiar pieces—"On the San Antonio River for Carillon" by Robert Byrnes, "Toccata en Re" by J. S. Bach, "Maria" from West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein, and "La Bohéme" by Charles Aznavour.

Concertgoers are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, picnic baskets, or even a book to read while listening to the music on the Eastman Quadrangle.
