Annual Expo Celebrates South Asian Culture

TIME, DATE, AND PLACE: 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, in Douglass Dining Center on the University of Rochester's River Campus

ADMISSION: Free and open to the public. Parking available in University lots.

South Asian Expo, an annual event intended to introduce the public to the array of cultures in South Asia, offers interactive educational booths on the region's history, languages, sports, and fashion and entertainment industries.

Sponsored by the Association for the Development of Interest in the Indian Subcontinent (ADITI), the expo features choreographed dances and traditional folk performances by students representing various areas of the region. Application of mehndi/henna temporary tattoos can be purchased for $1, and food and refreshments catered by Thali of India will be available for a small fee.
