This fall's Stonehurst Capital Invitational Regatta, part of Meliora Weekend, needs a commemorative T-shirt. The shirts will be sold before and during the regatta on Sunday, Oct. 13.

Design ideas are welcome between now and May 3 with $250 as the prize for the winning entry. Michael Wieckowski, an electrical and computer engineering major at the College, was last year's winner. The competition is open to students at the University of Rochester and at Rochester Institute of Technology.

The design must be a color image that can be reproduced on the front of a T-shirt. All designs must include the words: Stonehurst Capital Invitational Regatta; October 13, 2002; and hosted by RIT, University of Rochester, and the Greater Rochester Metro Chamber of Commerce. A tight image is needed now; later, the winner must supply camera-ready mechanical art or an electronic file in QuarkXPress (Version 4 or sooner), PDF, or EPS.

The regatta began in 1989 and is a tradition in Rochester. More than 30 colleges from the United States and Canada participate in Crew races on the Genesee River. All entries with your name, e-mail address, home address, and telephone number should be sent to: Sharon Dickman, University Public Relations, Box 270033, or to sdickman@admin.rochester.edu.
