University of Rochester, Rush Rhees Library: October 2009

Two Halves Gallery presents its first official exhibition at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY. The artwork, situated in the ground-level hallway gallery and entrance to Gleason Library, features sixteen recent artworks ranging in subject and medium from nudes to contemporary found objects.

All the works are made by University of Rochester student artists and were selected to be in this exhibition by the Director of Exhibitions at the Memorial Art Gallery. These works were culled from a larger group featured at the Memorial Art Gallery's 76th Annual Clothesline Festival in September 2009 where they were enjoyed and available for sale to the public.

Two Halves Gallery is a student and community cooperative art gallery. Through various arts initiatives and opportunities, Two Halves strives to create interaction and communication of arts between students and the surrounding community of Rochester. Two Halves Gallery is affiliated with the University of Rochester Kauffman Entrepreneurial Program and was created by University of Rochester students Emma Vann and Olivia Davis.
