WHAT: A unique booth hosted by the University of Rochester's Hajim School of Engineering and Applied Sciences will present a variety of artistic pictures created by the school's engineers and scientists using high technology at the Clothesline Festival. The booth features all sorts of stunning, vibrant images from a highly magnified bluebird feather to a collection of crystals seen through a scanning electron microscope.
TIME, DATE: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12.
BACKGROUND: The dean of the Hajim School, Robert Clark, came up with the idea for the engineering art booth as a way to demonstrate the beauty and elegance of the natural world as seen through the eyes of an engineer. He held a contest and invited students, professors, and staff members to submit their work. This is the first time the brand new booth will be displayed.
LOCATION: Lawn of the Memorial Art Gallery, at the corner of Goodman St. and University Ave.
