University of Rochester students and the general public will have an early opportunity to see the newest DreamWorks Pictures film, Almost Famous. The sneak preview will be shown at 9 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 13, in Hubbell Auditorium in Hutchison Hall on the River Campus. This event is free and open to the public. Door passes are required for admittance and can be obtained at the Wilson Commons Information Desk.

Set in the colorful rock culture of the 1970s in San Diego, Calif., Almost Famous follows William Miller (Patrick Fugit) who wants more than just to live the high school rituals of sex, drugs, and rock n' roll; he wants to write about it. The aspiring journalist embarks on what many of his peers could only dream about: following a new rock band across the United States for their first national tour. The film offers plenty of twists to keep everyone interested, and enough humor to maintain a light mood.

A live question-and-answer session with the actual cast members will follow the free advance screening. This event is made possible through Network Event Theater's (NET) state-of-the-art digital satellite system.

Seating is limited and is first-come, first-serve. For more information please contact (585) 275-5911. The advanced screening is being sponsored by the Student Activities Office and UR Cinema Group.
