WHAT: Platanos Y Collard Greens is a hilarious romantic tale which asks if love between Blacks and Latinos can survive. "Do Platanos Go Wit' Collard Greens?"

TIME, DATE, PLACE: 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30, at the Strong Auditorium on the University of Rochester's River Campus. Free and open to the public. ABOUT THE PLAY: The story focuses on two college students – strangers from different cultures – who fall in love at first sight, until her mom finds out and has a heart attack! The couple is forced to confront and overcome prejudices while defending their bond from family and friends. Playwright David Lamb based the 2003 play on his book about the social and political issues facing blacks and Latinos in New York. It's on a collegiate tour.
