The University of Rochester's Center for Emerging and Innovative Sciences (CEIS) will host its annual Technology Showcase this Thursday.

The half-day event will feature scientists from the University of Rochester, RIT, Cornell University, and Clarkson University displaying their innovative research and explaining how it can help companies develop new products and services.

The showcase will also feature speakers from leading New York State companies and development centers describing the role played by innovation in their organizations.

This year's event will have four research focus areas: optics, imaging, and photonics; biomedical; microelectronics, software, and communications; and energy and materials.

Headquartered at the University of Rochester, CEIS is funded by the New York State Foundation for Science, Technology and Innovation (NYSTAR) through its Center for Advanced Technology program. CEIS promotes economic development in New York and the greater Rochester region through technological innovation with a focus on successful technology transfer.
