Performance by the River Jazz Ensemble

TIME, DATE, AND PLACE: 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 19, in Lower Strong Auditorium, on the University of Rochester River Campus

ADMISSION: Free and open to the public Note: Free parking is available on University lots on weekends.

The River Jazz Ensemble of the University of Rochester will be giving a performance at 8 p.m. on Friday, November 19, in Lower Strong Auditorium on the River Campus.

Directed by Matt Mealey, the ensemble will perform several classic jazz hits, including The Big Dipper by Thad Jones and Take the A Train by Sammy Nestico, and will feature Blues in Three, a piece by River Jazz member Jason Brucker. The group will also pay tribute to Duke Ellington, playing a medley of his tunes to mark the 100th anniversary of his birth.
