The Margaret Warner Graduate School of Education and Human Development is offering a new certificate program for teachers with master's degrees who want to move into leadership positions at the building level.
Classes begin this summer for the first courses in the 21 credit-hour program in school administration on the University of Rochester's River Campus. Coursework will focus on critical issues and needed skills for those seeking leadership positions in K-12 schools.
Program chair Tyll van Geel explains that the initiative is "designed to respond to the increasing need of school districts to find new leaders as they face a rising number of retirements and expansion of their programs."
