A lecture on "French Representations of the Maghreb" will be presented by Farid Laroussi at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 3, in the Gamble Room in Rush Rhees Library on University of Rochester's River Campus. The Maghreb is the region of North Africa encompassing Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco.

Laroussi is an assistant professor in the Department of French at Yale University. He specializes in 20th century French and Francophone Maghreban literature and is currently working on the dynamics between the French literary imagination and the Maghreban culture.
