Internationally acclaimed pianist Zora Mihailovich will give a recital of romantic European and contemporary American musical pieces at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, on the lower level of Strong Auditorium on the University of Rochester's River Campus. Her concert is free and open to the public.

Born in Belgrade, Mihailovich started her musical studies at age five and debuted with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra when she was 16.

Mihailovich, currently artist-in-residence in the College music department, has performed in recitals and as an orchestral soloist in major European and North American centers such as London's Royal Festival Hall, Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, New York's Carnegie Hall, and Brussels' Conservatoire Royal. She is also a Steinway artist and gives master classes in Europe and in the United States.

Her recital is cosponsored by the Skalny Center for Polish and Central European Studies and the Department of Music. Established with a generous grant from the Louis Skalny Foundation, the Skalny Center supports research and teaching about the historical legacy and political and economic changes within Central Europe.
