Wilson Commons Student Activities and Dining Services are launching a new
series of events called "Wilson Commons Wednesdays." This is a joint
effort to engage the entire University community--faculty and staff as well
as students--in enjoying an original, festive atmosphere in Wilson Commons.
The new program will take place on the third Wednesday of every month from 11
a.m. to 3 p.m. in Wilson Commons. Each month's festivity will feature a theme
that includes live music, vendors, free samples and coupons, and live cooking
demonstrations. Lunch tickets will be available for purchase on site.
The first "Wilson Commons Wednesday" will take place on Sept. 17.
The theme of the first event will be the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month,
featuring music by Tumbao, vendor showcases from JQ Public Jewelry & Accessories
and National Advertising Specialties, and menu specialties prepared by the Spanish
and Latino Students' Association (SALSA).
Future "Wilson Commons Wednesdays" will take place on Oct. 15, Nov.
19, and Dec. 3, highlighting celebrations of Oktoberfest, Fall Harvest, and
The Holiday Season. The entire UR community is invited to attend and enjoy music,
food, and friendly atmosphere.
