Several "Friday Night Live" shows are lined up in the Common Ground Café in Wilson Commons on the University of Rochester's River Campus for the fall semester. All performances will take place from 8 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. and are free and open to the public, unless otherwise stated. The shows are sponsored by UR Concerts.

Upcoming performers for the September and October shows include:

Sept. 19: Stolie, an artist often compared to Jewel, will give two performances at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. Stolie's music ricochets between Indigo Girls harmonies, Lisa Loeb sweetness, and Ani DiFranco assertion.

Sept. 26: Mary Arden Collins combines earthen grooves and blues-infused rock to create a fresh, organic sound. Mary has performed with national acts such as Fastball, The Doobie Brothers, 10,000 Maniacs, and Modern English.

Sept. 27: Filthy Funk Band's performance of guitar, keys, and drums combines jazz, soul, and hip hop to create funky grooves and blazing rhythms.

Oct. 17: Tony Padilla Trio has performed for more than 20 years with artists such as Paquito de Rivera, Steve Gadd, Arturo Sandoval, Rafael Dejesus, Jay Lozada, Tom Toyama, and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.

Oct. 24: Eric Himan, touring relentlessly since 2001, has shared the stage with artists Edwin McCain, Melissa Ferrick, and Lake Trout. Eric found influence in musical artists ranging from Billie Holliday to The Beatles to Ani DiFranco and Tracy Chapman.

Oct. 31: David Harris' style blends world music, jazz, and ambient sounds set to masterfully written lyrics. David has been called "a masterful storyteller and an impeccably fluid guitarist."
