Mo Rocca, former correspondent for Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and host of Bravo’s Things I Hate About You, will appear at the University of Rochester at 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, in Strong Auditorium on the River Campus.
Known for his satirical, tongue-in-cheek reports and commentary on current news, Rocca began his television career writing for the award-winning PBS children’s series Wishbone. He served as consulting editor for the men’s magazine Perfect 10, is a regular panelist on NPR’s Wait Wait . . . Don’t Tell Me!, and appears as a commentator for CNN and the Fox News Channel.
In the same humorous vein as its author, Rocca’s new book, All The Presidents’ Pets, has been described as a “satirical tour de force of investigative journalism that blows the lid off a long-held secret in Washington: The presidents’ pets are more than just photo ops.”
Rocca received his bachelor’s degree from Harvard University, where he was president of and wrote for the Hasty Pudding Theatricals.
Admission to Rocca’s show is $15 for the general public; $10 for University of Rochester faculty, staff, and graduate students with ID; $5 for University of Rochester undergraduates with ID. Tickets go on sale Jan. 17 at the Common Market in Wilson Commons on the River Campus. If still available, tickets will also be sold at the door.
Rocca’s appearance is sponsored by the Campus Activities Board. For more information, contact (585) 275-5911.
