This marks the Marine Band&#8217;s 55th inaugural appearance.<\/p>\n<p>The Marine Band will provide music for the Inauguration swearing-in ceremony at the U.S. Capitol, lead the second division of the parade down Pennsylvania Avenue, and perform at the Salute to the Armed Forces Inaugural ball. \u201cThe President&#8217;s Own\u201d is the only musical unit to participate in all three events.<\/p>\n<p>From left, Master Sergeant David Murray\u00a0&#8217;96E (MM), \u00a0percussion; Staff Sergeant Rachel Perry\u00a0&#8217;13E (MM),\u00a0 saxophone; Gunnery Sergeant Thomas Maloy\u00a0&#8217;89E,\u00a0percussion; Master Gunnery Sergeant Matthew Harding\u00a0&#8217;96E,\u00a0solo cornet; Master Sergeant Glenn Paulson\u00a0&#8217;89E, percussion; Staff Sergeant Trevor Mowry\u00a0&#8217;11E,\u00a0coprincipal oboe; Master Sergeant Michelle Urzynicok\u00a0&#8217;94,\u00a0clarinet; Gunnery Sergeant Steven Owen &#8217;97E (MM ), &#8217;00E (DMA), percussion; Staff Sergeant Lucia Disano\u00a0&#8217;11E, clarinet; Gunnery Sergeant William Bernier &#8217;89E,\u00a0clarinet; and Master Sergeant Michael Mergen\u00a0&#8217;98 E (MM), cornet and trumpet.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Eleven alumni of the Eastman School of Music will perform in the 58th Inauguration of the President of the United States on Jan. 20, 2017, as members of \u201cThe President&#8217;s Own\u201d United States Marine Band.
