BACKGROUND:<\/b>\u00a0The symposium is sponsored by the Energy Research Initiative (ERI), founded in 2008 to coordinate energy-related research and educational activities at the University of Rochester.<\/p>\n

It’s estimated that the world will need a 130% increase in its energy output from 2003 levels in order to meet the demands of 2050. Given that the proven reserves of fossil fuels are finite \u2014and that fossil fuels are a likely cause of global warming\u2014it is important to develop viable alternative energy sources.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
