A free \u201cmini\u201d certificate course on improving patient safety\u2014designed specifically for health care professionals, trainees, and students from medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, hospital administration, and health services outreach\u2014is offered starting Sept. 6 by the Division of Healthcare Management in the Department of Community and Preventive Medicine. Registration deadline is Friday, Aug. 31. Twice-a-month sessions through Jan. 17 will cover such issues as malpractice, crisis management and teamwork techniques from the aviation industry, the science of medical errors, and more.
