The two-year awards recognize &#8220;some of the most promising young men and women in the early stages of their academic careers.&#8221; They are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.me.rochester.edu\/people\/faculty\/aluie_hussein\/index.html\">Hussein Aluie<\/a> <\/strong>of mechanical engineering, an expert on computational fluid dynamics as applied at scales ranging from many kilometers to mere micrometers \u2014 from ocean currents to inertial confinement fusion.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sas.rochester.edu\/rel\/people\/faculty\/guillory_margarita\/index.html\"><strong>Margarita Guillory<\/strong><\/a> of religion, who studies black spiritualists and their churches in America.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sas.rochester.edu\/eco\/people\/faculty\/park_yena\/index.html\"><strong>Yena Park<\/strong><\/a> of economics, whose research is mainly concerned with the interaction of public insurance, such as federal disability insurance programs, and the insurance provided through private markets.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sas.rochester.edu\/bcs\/people\/faculty\/piantadosi_steven\/index.html\"><strong>Steven<\/strong> <strong>Piantadosi<\/strong><\/a> of brain and cognitive sciences, who combines mathematics, computer science, theory, and experimental psychology to understand the computational mechanisms that support children&#8217;s acquisition of cognitive systems such as number and language.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Four faculty members have been chosen as this year&#8217;s Wilmot Assistant Professors.
