The University of Rochester will enroll 12 students into its Take Five Scholars Program this fall. Unique to the University, the program offers selected undergraduates a fifth, tuition-free year to complete self-designed projects unrelated to their majors and for the sole purpose of intellectual enrichment.<\/p>\n

Thousands of students have been admitted to the program since its inception in 1986.<\/p>\n

The 12 newly admitted students are:<\/p>\n

Jeremy Atkins <\/strong>(physics and astronomy, and mathematics) from Holbrook, Massachusetts: \u201cWorldbuilding: Theory and Practice.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tamanna Bhatia <\/strong>(psychology and biological sciences) from Lloyd Harbor, New York: \u201cGender-Based Inequality and Female Interpretation of Freedom.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thomas Culeton <\/strong>(audio music engineering) from La Fayette, New York: \u201cReleasing the Writer Within.\u201d<\/p>\n

Samuel Hirschhorn <\/strong>(film and media studies, and psychology) from Newtown Centre, Massachusetts: \u201cContextualizing Jewish Identity: Israel\/Palestine.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nathan Leopold <\/strong>(international relations and business) from Atlanta, Georgia: \u201cThe Workings of the Mind\u2014Developing an Academic Understanding of My Own Mind.\u201d<\/p>\n

Quinnlyn Murphy <\/strong>(political science) from Manchester Centre, Vermont: \u201cJapanese Film Analysis and Interpretation.\u201d<\/p>\n
