Several former University staff and retirees came back to campus for the socially-distanced retirement event, including several nurse coworkers from over years.\u00a0The Department of Public Safety led the parade.<\/p>\n<p>Feuerstein found her calling as a nurse 46 years ago. Out of nursing school, she began her career at St. Mary\u2019s Hospital in Rochester, and then made professional stops in Florida and Colorado. Years later she returned to Rochester, serving in the ER and NICU at Highland Hospital and supporting a private practice before beginning her career at the University. At UHS, she cared for students and the greater University community on both River Campus and Eastman campuses. Ever the caregiver, she continues to volunteer as a hospice care provider and aspires to support her nursing team at UHS after her retirement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>University Health Service staff members organized a \u201cDrive-by Good-bye\u201d for Liz Feuerstein, a UHS staff nurse who retired from the University after almost 32 years of service on Friday, May 1.
