Wearing masks and following physical distancing guidelines, students from New York\u2019s restricted travel states arrived to begin a 14-day quarantine.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The first groups of University of Rochester<\/a> students who are required to undergo a 14-day quarantine before the start of the fall semester moved into University-sponsored housing August 1.<\/p>\n

At Riverview Apartments, one of the sites for completing the COVID-19 quarantine, the check-in process opened at noon Saturday for students from the 34 states that New York has designated as restricted for travelers and for students from abroad whom the CDC recommends be quarantined in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

As the list of restricted travelers has grown this summer, the University has worked to make arrangements<\/a> for students living on campus to complete the quarantine in time for the start of classes, which is set for August 26. The Office of Residential Life<\/a> organized the quarantine process for on-campus students.<\/p>\n

After finishing their quarantine, the students will move later this month to their originally assigned campus residence halls. As part of the process of moving into campus housing, the students will also be tested for COVID-19.<\/p>\n
