Noted observer of American political leadership to discuss \u2018what makes a great US president\u2019 as part of Difficult Conversations series.<\/h2>\n

\"MichaelPresidential historian and best-selling author Michael Beschloss will deliver a virtual talk at a University of Rochester<\/a> event in March.<\/p>\n

Beschloss is the fifth speaker in the Difficult Conversations as a Catalyst for Change series, presented by Donald Hall, the University\u2019s Robert L. and Mary Sproull Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Sciences & Engineering. Beschloss will discuss \u201cWhat Makes a Great US President,\u201d starting at 6 p.m. EST on Monday, March 8. The event is expected to run until 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

The talk is open to the public, and those interested must register online<\/a> to receive a Zoom link. Questions for Beschloss can be submitted during registration.<\/p>\n

Beschloss is the author of 10 books, most recently the New York Times<\/em> and Wall Street Journal<\/em> best-seller Presidents of War<\/em><\/a>. He is a frequent guest on television, serves as NBC News\u2019 presidential historian, and is a regular contributor to the PBS NewsHour<\/em> and the New York Times<\/em>. \u201cMichael Beschloss knows more about America\u2019s presidents than perhaps anyone on earth,\u201d the Charlotte Observer<\/em> says. Newsweek<\/em> calls him \u201cthe nation\u2019s leading presidential historian.\u201d<\/p>\n

His popular Twitter account, @beschlossDC<\/a>, has more than 673,000 followers and includes rare photos from American history. It\u2019s listed among Time<\/em> magazine\u2019s list of the world\u2019s top Twitter feeds.<\/p>\n

The Difficult Conversations series strives to broaden the perspectives of the University community. Previous speakers have included Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Angela Davis, and Madeleine Albright.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
