Established in 1953 by the College Art Association, the prize is awarded annually and named in honor of one of the first teachers of art history in the United States who was a founding member of the CAA. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.collegeart.org\/news\/\">Find the list of 2025 CAA award recipients<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Following decades of research and interviews with curators, collectors, restorers, Native artists, and replica makers, Berlo\u2019s book traces the historical and social contexts of forgeries, imitations, replications, and appropriations by both Native and non-Native makers. Gazarek is a founding member of s\u00e4je, an all-female vocal ensemble.<\/p>\n<p>It is the second Grammy in consecutive years for s\u00e4je. This is the second honor for the paper, titled &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/article\/10.1007\/s00222-019-00917-x\">On Falconer\u2019s distance set problem in the plane<\/a>,&#8221; which also received a nod for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/newscenter\/september-october-2024-faculty-awards-accolades-624892\/#iosevich\">Best Paper Award<\/a>\u00a0in Mathematics from the International Congress of Chinese Mathematicians.<\/p>\n<p>The Frontiers of Science Award was inaugurated in 2023 under the auspices of the International Congress of Basic Sciences (ICBS) and is sponsored by the City of Beijing and the Yanqi Lake Beijing Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Application (BIMSA). The FSA is awarded to a recent paper recognized for a major breakthrough in its field. She will receive the award in New Orleans in March.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.warner.rochester.edu\/directory\/tricia-shalka\">Shalka<\/a>, an associate professor of educational leadership at the Warner School of Education and Human Development, investigates the impacts of trauma on college students.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.warner.rochester.edu\/blog\/guide-to-trauma-informed-practices-in-college\">Shalka\u2019s book introduces innovative concepts essential for developing trauma-informed practices in student affairs<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr style=\"width: 50%;\" \/>\n<h3 id=\"zhang\"><strong>Xi-Cheng Zhang recognized for pioneering work<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_641972\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-641972\" style=\"width: 320px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-641972\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/newscenter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Zhang.jpg\" alt=\"portrait of man with glasses.\" width=\"320\" height=\"384\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-641972\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Xi-Cheng Zhang<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hajim.rochester.edu\/optics\/people\/faculty\/zhang_xi-cheng\/\">Xi-Cheng Zhang<\/a>, the M. Land Medal Recipient<\/a>, presented jointly by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.optica.org\/en-us\/home\/\">Optica<\/a>\u00a0and the Society for Imaging Science and Technology (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imaging.org\/\">IS&amp;T<\/a>). The medal recognizes pioneering work empowered by scientific research to create inventions, technologies, and products.<\/p>\n<p>Zhang was honored for advancements in terahertz photonics, transformative technologies impacting diverse industries, entrepreneurial success in commercializing THz tools globally, and dedication to mentoring future scientific leaders. Zhang has received 29 US patents, authored and coauthored 24 books and book chapters, 330 peer-reviewed papers, 500 colloquia, seminars, invited conference presentations, and 200 contributed
