From coral reefs to human spaceflight, two URochester alumni are asking questions\u2014and finding answers\u2014at the planet\u2019s most demanding frontiers.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

One University of Rochester<\/a> alumna descends to the ocean floor to study coral reefs under stress. Another helps NASA anticipate the risks of sending humans beyond Earth\u2019s orbit. Their workplaces could hardly be farther apart. But Marcelina Martynek \u201918 and Mary Skow \u201907 are guided by the same discipline: asking precise questions, testing assumptions, and using evidence to make decisions when the stakes are high.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
