The Department of Transportation and Parking Management is hosting a series of events to celebrate\u00a0bicycling as a sustainable and healthy way to get to work \u2014 or anywhere you need to go.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On Tues., May 17, \u201cBike to Work Day\u201d,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/events.rochester.edu\/event\/bike_to_work_day_pit_stop_913\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">will be celebrated with a \u201cpit stop\u201d<\/a>\u00a0hosted jointly by Reconnect Rochester and the University at the cycle track on Elmwood Ave., across from the main hospital entrance.\u00a0Stop by any time between 7:30-9:30 a.m. to meet and chat with fellow cyclists and grab a free snack.\u00a0At 8 a.m., Richard, Perrin, Commissioner of Environmental Services for the City of Rochester, will be at the Pit Stop to offer the Bike Week Proclamation. Monroe County Planning will be present to share info with commuters who are interested in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.monroecounty.gov\/planforward\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">County Comp Plan<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.monroecountycatp.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Countywide Active Transportation Plan<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Tune into virtual classes offering 15-minute quick biking tips. Learn\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/events.rochester.edu\/event\/how_to_clean_your_bike_chain_-_15_min_virtual_class\">\u201cHow to Clean Your Bike Chain\u201d<\/a>\u00a0on May 11, or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/events.rochester.edu\/event\/where_to_park_your_bike_-_15_min_virtual_class\">\u201cLearn Where to Park Your Bike\u201d<\/a>\u00a0on campus on May 25. Classes are held noon to 12:15 p.m. via\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/rochester.zoom.us\/j\/95031156639\">Zoom<\/a>.
