The University is committed to providing a healthy and safe environment for all employees, students, patients, and visitors. This policy (#165) outlines COVID-19 vaccination requirements for employees and others covered by this policy.

Pursuant to the August 18, 2021 New York State Order for Summary Action, Covered Personnel shall be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, with a minimum first dose of a vaccination by no later than September 27, 2021.
In accordance with New York State law, eligible employees are entitled to take up to four hours of protected time off from work, with pay, to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
The Long-Term Disability (LTD) Plan provides a monthly income benefit when an individual is totally disabled for more than six months.
The policy is intended to ensure effective supervision, internal discipline, trust, and positive morale in the workplace, and seeks to avoid the appearance of, or potential for, favoritism, conflicts of interest, the appearance of impropriety, and conflicts of loyalty associated with nepotism.
The University recognizes the right of University staff to engage in employment opportunities outside the University. Outside employment must not conflict with the duties, responsibilities, and regular periods of work of the staff member at the University. The University relies on the judgment and integrity of the staff member to avoid conflicts with the staff member's commitment to the University
This policy outlines the grievance procedure, which is designed to supplement the informal departmental means of resolving staff members’ problems or complaints.
This Policy establishes family, medical, and servicemember family leaves of absence in accordance with the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 (FMLA), as amended.
The Short-Term Disability pays all or part of basic salary for an eligible individual who is absent from work for a period exceeding 7 calendar days due to an illness or disability that is not related to the job and which prevents the individual from performing University duties and responsibilities.
Upon request, the University will provide current employees access to their personnel records as maintained in the Office of Human Resources and in the individual’s employing unit. Review is limited to once a year.
