Art/Music Lovers

Art Exhibitions

Three River Campus Galleries—Hartnett in Wilson Commons, "AS IS" (Artist's Space in Sage) in Sage Art Center, and The Gallery at the Art & Music Library—have active exhibition schedules with changing shows in the visual arts during the academic year.

College Music Department

The College Music Department offers numerous concerts both on the River Campus and throughout the greater Rochester community each academic year. All events are open to the public; many are free. Academic year concert dates are posted on the department Web site.

Eastman School of Music presents over 700 concerts annually, many of which are free. Admission discounts on others are available to groups, senior citizens, and students.

Creative Workshop Art Classes

The Memorial Art Gallery offers art classes for adults, teens and children as young as two and a half. Creative workshop scholarships for children are administered by the Rochester City School District.

A Community Education Division program of free lunchtime concerts held at the Downtown Universalist Church on Clinton Avenue. Performers include students, faculty and friends of the Eastman School of Music.

Memorial Art Gallery Volunteer and Internship Experience

High school and college students work closely with museum staff on a variety of projects, including art historical research, educational program development, and Creative Workshop children's classes.

Music Classes

The Eastman School of Music's Community Education Division offers a variety of lessons, classes, workshops, and special events during the academic year and during the summer. Programs include private lessons, early childhood classes, ensembles, free concerts and recitals, and more. These offerings are continued in the summer, along with additional special camps and programs such as Music Horizons (for high school students considering a career in music) and the Piano Festival and Competition.
