Cory Amron has been named
a 2007 Washington, D.C., “Super Lawyer,” an annual
listing that recognizes only 5 percent of D.C. area attorneys. Cory
specializes in intellectual property law for the law firm of Vorys,
Sater, Seymour and Pease.
1975
David Edmunds Jr.,
special counsel in the Buffalo offices of the Phillips Lytle law
firm, was appointed to a two-year term on New York’s
Independent Judicial Election Qualification Commission for the
Eighth Judicial District. The commission will evaluate candidates
for judicial office to determine whether they are qualified for the
office in which they seek election. David focuses his practice in
the areas of ethics and professional responsibility and civil
litigation defense.
1977
Debra Ehrlich Brush
writes that she is director of Parent-Child Home Programs at Newton
Community Service Center in Newton, Mass. She lives in Weston,
Mass., with her husband, Alan, a physician, and her three children:
Jesse, 24, a second-year law student at Yale; Carly, 21, a
University of Pennsylvania senior; and Michele, 18, a freshman at
Washington University in St. Louis. Debra regrets that she will be
unable to attend the 30th reunion because she will be traveling in
Asia. . . . Tony Rafel and two other
in his Rafel Manville law firm have collectively been named
“Boss of the Year” for 2007 by the National Association
of Legal Support Professionals of Greater Seattle.
1979
Steve Gunther was one of
nine “philanthropist-candidates” selected by the
Minnesota chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to compete
in a national fundraising campaign. The philanthropist-candidates
spent nine weeks leading efforts to raise money and awareness for
the society as part of the 2007 Man & Woman of the Year
competition. Steve, a founder of the business consulting company
Mosaica Partners, and his wife, Helen Katz
Gunther ’78, have two sons and live in Excelsior,
Minn. . . . Earl Norman, a faculty
member in the Department of Surgery at Michigan State University
and Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies, was chosen by the
graduating class of Michigan State’s College of Human
Medicine to receive a faculty teaching award at last spring’s
commencement. . . . Navy Capt. Sean
Pybus, a commander with Naval Special Warfare Group One in
San Diego, was nominated this spring for appointment to the rank of
rear admiral. His sister, Nani Pybus,
sent a note to recognize her brother’s accomplishments.
