{"id":55872,"date":"2025-07-09T10:50:55","date_gmt":"2025-07-09T14:50:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/provost\/?p=55872"},"modified":"2025-07-09T10:51:18","modified_gmt":"2025-07-09T14:51:18","slug":"university-travel-registration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/provost\/university-travel-registration\/","title":{"rendered":"University Announces International Travel Registration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>University of Rochester faculty and staff:<\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The University is updating policies, procedures, and resources to improve support for international travelers on University-sponsored programs or business. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:false,&quot;134233118&quot;:false,&quot;335559738&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Due to anticipated changes to our international travel insurance policy in December 2025 and increased geopolitical risks worldwide, all University-sponsored or supported travel,\u202f<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">including faculty and staff business travel<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">, must be registered through the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/office-global-engagement\/travel\/registry\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">University of Rochester International Travel Registry<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\"> at least two weeks in advance. Registration enables the University to provide support during emergency response, and it is a critical step to ensuring travelers can access university-provided resources, such as international travel insurance and assistance, abroad. The process is simple, takes only a few minutes, and may be completed by the traveler or a department administrator or other staff member (\u201cproxy registration\u201d). <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:false,&quot;134233118&quot;:false,&quot;335559738&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Although registration is now required, faculty and staff travel will remain unrestricted. Registration does not initiate a review process and serves only as a visibility and record-keeping tool to enable critical support capabilities. Additionally, the University does not oversee personal travel; this element will remain unchanged.
