Introducing the Classes of 2012
“Your education benefits society only if you are a drum major for human dignity,” Ruth Simmons, president of Brown University, told members of the College Class of 2012. At the Eastman School, Pulitzer Prize–winning composer George Walker ’56E (DMA) urged students to focus on their goals: “Go forth and extend the legacy you have inherited.” Simmons and Walker were among several honorees and guests who joined Rochester graduates in celebrating Rochesters 162nd commencement.
