Voting is held online and will be announced via @Rochester. Staff can either nominate themselves as a candidate or they can be nominated by other staff members. To be eligible for the Genesee Staff Council, nominees must meet ALL of the following criteria:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Have at least one year of employment with the University prior to the election they are being nominated for<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Serve in a staff position (essentially anyone who is not a faculty member)<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Work in one of the 18 represented districts<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Work full-time or part-time (time as reported employees are ineligible)<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Be in good standing (not have an active performance improvement plan)<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Eligibility is verified by Human Resources prior to the election<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>","background_color":"#ffffff","width":"width-medium"},{"acf_fc_layout":"text","anchor":"","css_class":"title-line t-below t-yellow mb-0 pb-50","title":"<h2>Serving on the Council<\/h2>","content":"Being a representative of the Genesee Staff Council involves a time commitment, and it is suggested that staff interested in serving discuss this interest with their supervisors before applying. All supervisors have been charged to support and encourage participation in the Genesee Staff Council for both hourly and salaried employees.\r\n\r\nThe time commitment for representatives will be a minimum of approximately eight hours per month, which includes attending monthly Genesee Staff Council meetings and sitting on one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/staff-council\/about\/committees\/\">Council committees<\/a>; but this could vary depending on any Council committees a representative may be involved with.
