We collaborate with units, schools, and offices across all of the University\u2019s campuses, as well as with community partners and organizations. We plan, implement, and communicate sustainability initiatives to reduce resource consumption and the University\u2019s overall carbon footprint. We work to support the integration of sustainability into our education, research, patient care, and operations.<\/p>","background_color":"#ffffff","width":"width-medium"},{"acf_fc_layout":"text","anchor":"","css_class":"","title":"<h2>What is sustainability<strong>?<\/strong><\/h2>","content":"The University of Rochester defines \u201csustainability\u201d in accordance with the <a href=\"https:\/\/stars.aashe.org\/resources-support\/help-center\/the-basics\/what-is-sustainability\/\">Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE)<\/a>: \u201c<span class=\"OYPEnA font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">AASHE understands sustainability as a pluralistic concept encompassing human and ecological health, racial equity and social justice, secure livelihoods, and well-being for all now and in the future.
