{"id":8786,"date":"2017-10-10T16:02:06","date_gmt":"2017-10-10T16:02:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bferrign.wdev.rochester.edu\/uhs\/?page_id=8786"},"modified":"2026-03-16T16:06:18","modified_gmt":"2026-03-16T20:06:18","slug":"postdoctoral-fellowship-qualifications-stipend-and-benefits","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/uhs\/ucc\/professional-training-programs\/postdoctoral-fellowship-qualifications-stipend-and-benefits\/","title":{"rendered":"Postdoctoral Fellowship Qualifications, Stipend and Benefits"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>Required Qualifications of Candidates<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Applicants must have completed\u00a0<u>all<\/u>\u00a0requirements for their doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology before beginning their postdoctoral training, and must have received their doctoral degree from an APA\/CPA-accredited program, including an APA\/CPA-accredited internship or an APPIC internship.<\/p>\n<p>Postdoctoral Fellows must submit a copy of their Diploma or a letter from their doctoral program Director of Graduate Studies verifying completion of all degree requirements prior to the first day of their training.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Preferred Qualifications of Candidates<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Candidates are considered closely when their applications reflect:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>experience providing psychotherapy that has breadth and depth<\/li>\n<li>openness to supervision<\/li>\n<li>commitment to cultural sensitivity<\/li>\n<li>ethical and professional conduct<\/li>\n<li>experience with campus counseling and consultation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>PostDocs who thrive at the UCC bring an interest in individual and group psychotherapy and supervision that incorporates self-reflection, use of self, and focus on the therapeutic relationship.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Stipend and Benefits<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Fellowship positions are for twelve months, and require that fellows attain a minimum of 2000 hours to be considered complete. The State of New York Psychology License can be applied for after the applicant has completed 1750 hours.\u00a0 Positions begin August 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0and end July 31<sup>st<\/sup>. Each position currently carries a stipend of $58,108 for 12 months. Fellows are eligible for 20 paid vacation days, 5 paid professional days, and nine University holidays.<\/p>\n<p>Fellows receive extensive supervision<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">-2 hours of individual supervision with licensed Psychologists<br \/>\n-2 hours supervision with group co-leaders by Senior Staff<br \/>\n-Group supervision and case presentations in seminars<\/p>\n<p>Other Training support includes designated Senior Staff documentation review and On-Call back-up, participation in agency-wide Case Conferences, and meetings.<\/p>\n<p>Each fellow has a private, furnished office equipped with a personal computer and digital recording equipment.
