To allow University Health Service staff members to participate in the excitement of the 2024 Solar Eclipse, the office will be closed for one hour in the afternoon on April 8, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. During this time, our Medical Chief, Dr. Ethan Beaudett, will be on-call and will handle urgent calls received by our answering service. We will resume normal operations at 4:00 p.m.<\/p>\n

We hope that everyone has a chance to experience this moment in history!\u00a0 Please remember that properly protecting your eyes<\/strong> during a solar eclipse<\/strong><\/a> is crucial for avoiding long-term damage to your vision. James Zavislan, a professor of optics and of biomedical engineering and an associate professor of ophthalmology, explains the science behind eclipse glasses<\/strong><\/a> and how they protect your eyes from the sun\u2019s light.<\/p>\n
