{"id":99922,"date":"2024-09-16T17:42:41","date_gmt":"2024-09-16T17:42:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/uhs\/?p=99922"},"modified":"2024-10-17T18:08:23","modified_gmt":"2024-10-17T18:08:23","slug":"save-the-date-2024-flu-vaccine-clinics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/uhs\/save-the-date-2024-flu-vaccine-clinics\/","title":{"rendered":"Save the Date: 2024 Flu Vaccine Clinics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Save the date for this year&#8217;s flu vaccine clinics!<\/p>\n<p>On <strong>Friday, October 25, University Health Service (UHS) <\/strong>will host a flu vaccine clinic for<strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">students<\/span> from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Eastman School of Music Student Living Center.<\/strong> We&#8217;ll be in the <strong>Staff Dining Hall<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Students scheduling an appointment for a flu shot should do so through <em>UHSConnect<\/em>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Log in to <a href=\"https:\/\/uhsconnect.ur.rochester.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>UHSConnect<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>Appt. Scheduling<\/strong> and then <strong>Schedule Appt.<\/strong> to schedule an appointment. You will first need to read and accept the Terms of Service.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>UHS-Vaccine Clinic<\/strong> in the <em><strong>Office Location<\/strong><\/em> field.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>October 25 \u2013 October 25<\/strong> in the Date From and Date To fields.<\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>Flu Vaccine Clinic \u2013 EASTMAN SCHOOL<\/strong>\u00a0as the Reason for Appointment.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Search<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Schedule your appointment by clicking on one of the appointments listed on the right side of the screen.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Confirm<\/strong> to schedule your appointment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The flu vaccine is covered in full for all active members of the UR student health insurance plan (Aetna) and generally covered in full by most private insurance plans. Contact your insurance plan directly for specific coverage details. Flu vaccines offer the best and safest way to prevent the spread of the illness and getting vaccinated does not cause the flu. Some people may react with a sore arm or feel achy after the vaccine, but this is much better than coming down with influenza.<\/p>\n<p>Getting a flu vaccine is one way that you can protect your own good health and that of the University community in the coming months. Other important ways to prevent illness are to wash your hands regularly, avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, and cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after use and wash your hands. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, get regular activity, and rest.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Save the date for this year&#8217;s flu vaccine clinics!
